This recent addition to the Rockefeller collection is a rare example of a 7th-century stone image of the Hindu god Vishnu from eastern India. Although the hands, which would have held the attributes of Vishnu, are missing, this statue can be identified on account of his tall crown and the neatly curled locks that fall around the head.
