This exhibition was the result of a generous loan of 65 drawings and oil sketches from the more than 2,000 in the collections of the Cooper-Hewitt Museum. These works represent the full range of plein air sketches that Church created in the course of three decades during which he journeyed among the scenic wonders of North America and other regions.
