Patrice D. Miller, SPHR, Associate Director

Ms. Patrice D. Miller joined the staff of the Office of Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Programs in April, 2003 as Associate Director. She came to Penn after spending 14 years in various Human Resources and Affirmative Action positions at Drexel University, most recently as Director of the Affirmative Action, Staff Relations and Training Department.

Pat's primary responsibilities include handling investigations into allegations of discrimination and harassment, coordinating the reasonable accomodations program for Faculty and Staff with Disabilities, assisting with preparation of the University's Affirmative Action Plan, compliance with government reporting requirements, and preparing and delivering training to the University community on issues of discrimination and harassment. Pat is also available for one-on-one consultation with anyone needing assistance in dealing with related workplace issues.

Pat has a Bachelors degree in Education, has received a certificate in EEO/Affirmative Action from Cornell's School of Labor and Industrial Relations,a certificate in Human Resource Management from Villanova University, and has completed a number of Human Resource and Affirmative Action courses at Cornell University and Drexel University. In addition, Pat was certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources by the Society for Human Resource Management in 1997.

Ralph J. De Lucia, Associate Director - Training

Mr. Raplh De Lucia joined the staff or the Office of Affirmative Action on September 20, 200r. He comes to Penn from the Insurance industry after a 24 year career as a training and organizational development professional working both domestically and internationally.

Ralph is charged with daily functioning of the Training program at our office. His key responsibilities include initiate, develop, deliver, and measure all training programs as pertains to our office.

Ralph holds a Master of Science degree in Training and Organizational Development from St. Joseph's University, and has achieved both Workers Compensation Law Association and Casualty Claims Law Association certifications. Ralph is also a certified web designer. In addition, Ralph was a former Insurance Chair and Professor of Insurance at Delaware County Community College and Lecturer at the Wharton School of Graduate Business, and currently lectures at the American College of Insurance and the Insurance Society of Philadelphia.

Monica Jones, Staff Assistant

Monica Jones joined the staff of the Office of Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Programs as Staff Assistant in July 2002. Monica is a native of Philadelphia and attended Temple University. She has over 10 years of secretarial and administrative experience.

Monica's primary duties include effectively implementing office policies and procedures to ensure quality customer service, maintains the department's budget and oversee our OAA website and newsletter, D.I.C.E.. She also supervises support staff, coordinating work assignments/projects to ensure accurate and timely completion. Monica also represents the office on various committees on campus and within the community and local government.
