Dear
Friends and Co-Workers :
During this time
of turmoil in the United States, people across the country and indeed
across the world, are banning together to express their sympathy and
horror. While many of our thoughts and prayers are with the victims
and their families, there are venues available for those who wish
to give a little more of themselves.
Student Financial
Services is sponsoring Operation Brotherly Love. We feel so strongly
and deeply about giving of ourselves to help our neighbors affected
and devastated by this senseless tragedy. If you are interested in
contributing money to this effort, Room 212 Franklin will be acting
as a central location to collect donations. Please stop by with either
your cash donation or check made payable to the American Red Cross
Disaster Relief Fund, and it will be forwarded to the Red Cross. For
those wishing not to give cash, the Salvation Army & Red Cross
are collecting supplies (see list below) for the relief effort. These
items will be collected in Room 212 Franklin Building & forwarded
to the Salvation Army and/or Red Cross.
We cannot undervalue
the importance of this effort nor the significance of individual contributions--no
matter how small. New York and Washington, D.C. are only a few hours
removed from Philadelphia and many local families and students have
been affected by this tragedy.
Help us unite
to assist our neighbors as they cope with this very difficult time.
Please stop by with your donations or if you have questions, please
call Yvonne at 898-9955 or 898-7234.
You and others
in your department/s have always been generous in other worthy causes
we assisted such as the Midwest Floods and especially the Gulf War.
Please join
Student Financial Services now in assisting those who are in desperate
need of our help. Please pass this message on to your friends, co-workers,
colleagues, and other departments or areas near you. Thank you.
