You are cordially invited to the public release of the Final Report:

TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENTS FOR

INCREASED LIVABILITY IN THE PHILADELPHIA REGION

Increasing street and highway congestion, underutilized transit services and insufficient attention to pedestrians in the Philadelphia Region call for innovative improvements. Under the sponsorship of the William Penn Foundation, the University of Pennsylvania research team performed a study of transportation conditions in the Philadelphia Region and prepared specific proposals for improving the transportation system.

Directed by Professor Vukan R. Vuchic, the study had an advisory Committee of experts and two Technical Committees for the project. This report represents the results of extensive analyses, discussions and recommendations reached through the course of this study.

The report presentation and distribution will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 24, 1999, on the University of Pennsylvania campus, in room 337 of the Towne Building. The Towne Building is located at 220 South 33rd Street in Philadelphia. A map is provided for your convenience on the reverse side of this announcement.

Members of the press, the transportation community, and the public are welcome and encouraged to attend.

For any questions or comments, please call Professor Vuchic, at 215-898-8345.
