Memorial on July 10 for Dr. Eisman: A memorial service in memory of Dr. Sylvan Eisman will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2007, at 3 p.m. in Irvine Auditorium with a reception to follow at 4 p.m. in Bodek Lounge in Houston Hall. Passing of President Emeritus Martin Meyerson
President Emeritus Martin Meyerson passed away on Saturday, June 2. He was president of Penn from 1970 to 1981. A small family service is being held today and a public memorial service will be scheduled at Penn during the 2007-2008 academic year. An obituary will appear in the July 17 issue of Almanac. A Message from Penn's Division of Public Safety: Power Grid Failure: April 18, 2007
There is a power grid failure in University City this morning affecting several buildings on campus and numerous traffic lights. The buildings include: Jaffe Building, Franklin Field, 3809 Walnut, 3815 Walnut, 3829 Walnut and 4028 Walnut. FRES and DPS personnel are monitoring and working with various City of Philadelphia agencies and PECO to address these issues as quickly as possible. Penn Police and AlliedBarton security officers have been dispatched to the affected areas to provide direction and address traffic control problems. (posted April 18, 2007)

Death of Stuart Carroll: Funeral Tomorrow
Stuart Carroll, C’43, former Secretary of the University, died January 25 at the age of 85. A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 31 at 11 a.m. at SS Peter & Paul Church, 1325 Boot Road in West Chester. Friends may call after 9:30 a.m. in church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Carroll’s memory to: Class of ’43 Memorial Scholarship Fund, University of Pennsylvania, Franklin Building. On Thursday, November 30 at 5 p.m., there will be an assembly to honor the memory of Dr. Philip Rieff, Benjamin Franklin Professor Emeritus of Sociology, who died on July 1 at the age of 83. Death of Dr. Vincent Cristofalo
Dr. Vincent Cristofalo, professor emeritus and the creator and founding director of Penn’s Center on Aging, died on May 8 at the age of 73. The viewing will be Thursday evening, May 11, from 7-9 p.m. at D'Anjolell Funeral Parlor, 2811 Westchester Pike, Broomall, PA. There will be second viewing on Friday, May 12 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at The Church of Saint Margaret prior to the funeral Mass, which will begin there at 10:30 a.m. 208 Narberth Ave, Narberth, PA  19072 (parish rectory: (610) 664-3770). The burial will immediately follow at the cemetery of St. Peter and Paul, Springfield PA. Dr. Eisa Mozaffari, clinical assistant professor of oral medicine in the Dental School, died January 7.
