Penn Book Center Open House: April 22

The Penn Book Center, which had its "soft" opening before Spring Break in its new location, will hold an open house on Thursday, April 22, at 4 p.m. to celebrate its formal reopening. The independent bookseller, which was among the longtime retailers formerly at the site razed recently for the construction of the Wharton School's Jon M. Huntsman Hall, is now one of the Shops at Penn, located at 34th and Sansom in the former Sam Goody's space.

Roses in Motion: Also in the Shops at Penn, the longtime Houston Hall florists, Roses-which was moved temporarily to Walnut Street last year--has now completed another move within the complex, taking the former 9 & Co. space on 34th Street near Walnut. The move makes way for expansion of The Gap, which reportedly will add a Baby Gap to its Penn site.
