Professor of Business Law: Edward Rock
Edward
B. Rock, L'83 has been named the inaugural Saul A. Fox Distinguished
Professor of Business Law at the Law School and professor
of business and public policy at the Wharton School. A professor
of law on the faculty since 1989, Professor Rock also serves
as co-director of the Institute for Law and Economics, a
joint research center of the Law School, the Wharton School,
and the Department of Economics in SAS. MORE

Fuller
Professor of Law: Jason Scott Johnston
Dr.
Jason Scott Johnston has been named the Robert G. Fuller,
Jr. Professor of Law. Dr. Johnston also serves as the director
of POLE (Program on Law and the Environment), which he founded
at the Law School in 1998. The program promotes multidisciplinary
research in environmental law and regulation.

Memoriam
Since
the events of September 11, alumni and friends of the University
of Pennsylvania have expressed a desire to do something
meaningful for survivors. Many have looked to the University
as a symbol of both enduring values and hope for the future.

$7
Million for Patient Safety
Research and Practice
The
Penn Medical Center has assembled a multidisciplinary team
of physicians and researchers to form the Center of Excellence
for Patient Safety Research and Practice. A $7 million grant
from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ)
will fund the center through its first five years of operation.
