Mr. Kasbekar, Wharton Junior

Yash Kasbekar, a junior in finance information at Wharton, died on January 1, at the age of 20. Mr. Kasbekar was from Burr Ridge, Illinois.

Mr. Kasbekar, who transferred from Emory University in 2000, was recently elected executive vice-president of the Inter-Fraternity Council and was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He was also inducted into Omega, the Greek Honor Society, last semester.

A memorial service will be held today at 6 p.m. in the Hall of Flags, Houston Hall.

He is survived by his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Vithal Kasbekar.

Sajani and Subin Shrestha, OIP and Wharton Computing

Sajani Shrestha, an administrative assistant at the Office of International Programs, died on December 21 at the age of 29.

Mrs. Shrestha began working at Penn as a volunteer at the Office of International Programs in 1996 where she helped organize the International Resource Center and helped develop the OIP web site. In September of 2001 she joined the Office of International Programs as an administrative assistant. She was from Katmandu, Nepal.

Mrs. Shrestha is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joshi and four siblings.

Subin Shrestha, a senior programming analyst at Wharton Computing, died on December 22 at the age of 27.

Mr. Shrestha received his B.S. and M.S. in Engineering from SEAS in 1995 and 1997 respectively. He joined Wharton Computing in 1998 as a senior programming analyst. He was also from Katmandu, Nepal.

He is survived by his mother, Bina Shrestha; and two sisters.

A memorial service will be held for Mr. and Mrs. Shrestha on Thursday, January 17, at 4:15 p.m. in rm. 350 Steinberg Hall-Dietrich Hall.
