Call for Volunteers for
2002-2003 Committee Service
To
the University Community:
The
University encourages both citizenship and service to the broader
organization. To support that effort, it is strongly encouraged
that maximum flexibility and release time for staff attendance
at the meetings of University Council Committees is provided.
We encourage staff members and their supervisors to work together
to allow release time while recognizing that the operational needs
of the school/center take precedence. We encourage staff members
serving on University Council Committees to provide as much notice
as possible for the need to schedule release time for attendance
at Council Committee meetings.

RE: Volunteers Needed for Committee Service
Almanac
of March 5 carried a call for volunteers to serve on standing
committees of University Council in 2002-2003. The deadline for
nominations is March 22, 2002. Serving on a Council committee
is a great way to become involved in issues of importance to you
and the University community. Please take time to consider whether
you could make a meaningful contribution through one of the committees.
The
standing committees of Council are described in the March 5 issue
of Almanac. You can access that issue via the Web at
www.upenn.edu/almanac/v48/n25/council.html.
Please
submit nominations by March 22, using the form below.
