Revised Policy Change

Minor changes have been made to the Time Off with Pay for Death In the Family Policy (Human Resources Policy 609). The policy has been renamed Bereavement Policy (Human Resources Policy 609). The Bereavement Policy provides regular staff members paid time off for making arrangements, settling family affairs, bereavement, and/or attending the funeral or memorial service of a member of the immediate family. The revisions also clarify the time allowances provided to staff members for death of a family member. The revised policy can be accessed via the Human Resources website at www.hr.upenn.edu/policy/policies/609.asp.
