President Rodin: Stepping Down in June 2004
Dr. Judith Rodin, president since 1994, announced that she intends to step down from the office when she completes her 10-year term in June 2004. The June 20 announcement came following the meeting of the full Board of Trustees.

New University Ombudsman: Dr. Pope
Dr. David Pope, professor of materials science and engineering in the School of Engineering and Applied Science, has agreed to serve as the University's Ombudsman, effective July 1, 2003 for a two-year term, President Judith Rodin recently announced.

The 2003 recipients of the School of Social Work's Excellence in Teaching Awards are Dr. Carol Wilson Spigner, a member of the standing faculty; Joseph McBride, and Dr. Arthur Schwartz, members of the part-time faculty. Recipients of the Excellence in Teaching Awards are selected by graduating students.
