Death

Dr. Berg, Veterinary Medicine

Dr. Paul Berg, former associate professor of veterinary medicine, died on August 17, at the age of 72.

Dr. Berg graduated from the School of Veterinary Medicine in 1962, and was a U.S. Public Health Science Research fellow in the Graduate School of Medicine from 1964-1965. In 1969, he was appointed to head of the small animal surgery unit. He was also an assistant professor and associate professor from 1966 to 1972. In 1972 he left Penn to open the Berg Veterinary Hospital of South Jersey in Williamston. He returned to Penn in 1980 as an adjunct professor of surgery. Dr. Berg retired from his practice in 2000, turning his practice over to his daughter who is also a veterinarian.

Dr. Berg is survived by his companion, Lee Peters; daughters Melissa Berg, and Beatrice Agar; son Alan Lee Berg; mother Irma Berg; two brothers; and three grandchildren.
