Mr. Saporito, Ph.D. Student, History
Mr. James Vincent Saporito, a Ph.D. history student
in SAS, died on September 3 at the home of his mother in New Orleans,
LA. He was 38 years old.
Mr. Saporito had received his B.A. in history from
the University of California, Los Angeles, and his M.A. in history
from Penn. He had completed his coursework towards his Ph.D. and
had recently returned from a year in France where he was working
on his dissertation in modern European intellectual history.
Mr. Saporito had received
the Dean's Award for
Distinguished Teaching by a Graduate Student in 2001.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Preston Saporito;
three aunts; and one uncle.
