Devika Umashanker of India will be
among several International House resident students who will share
information about the holiday celebrations of their countries during
the UPM's annual Peace Around the World event. Ms. Umashanker
will talk about the Hinu holiday of Pongal, which is only celebrated
by the Tamil people of South India. The pot she holds is used for
boiling a special rice dish on this day.
