Dr. Lorion: Dean of Ed. at Towson
Dr.
Raymond P. Lorion, professor of the Psychology in Education
Division in the Graduate School of Education, will become
the dean of the College of Education at Towson University
as of July. He has previously served as chair of GSE's
Psychology in Education Division. He has been at Penn since
January 2000, and since that time has held research appointments
in numerous areas, including the Center for Psychotherapy
Research, the Center for the Study of Youth Policy at the
School of Social Work, the Center for Mental Health Policy
and Services Research in Psychiatry, the Center for the
Study of Youth Policy at the School of Social Work, and
the Firearm Injury Center at the School of Medicine. During
his time at Penn, he has also worked with Penn Partnership
schools to help families and school leaders deal with the
behavioral and social issues in their schools. He holds
a license/certification in psychology and since 1989 has
served as editor of the Journal of Community Psychology.
