Vice
Dean at Graduate School of Education: Doug Lynch
Doug Lynch is the
new vice dean for graduate admissions and executive
education at GSE. Mr. Lynch oversees
admissions policies for GSE's traditional and non-traditional
programs and will assist faculty in the development
of executive model and continuing education programs.
Mr. Lynch came to Penn April 1 from NYU's School of
Continuing and Professional Studies, where he served
as assistant dean for corporate learning and new business
initiatives. He was also responsible for international
initiatives at NYU.
Before joining NYU,
Mr. Lynch worked at the College Board, first as executive
assistant to the president
and then as director of member services. He also worked
at Arizona State University, where he helped create
the Genesis Academy, one of the state's first charter
schools, designed to meet the special needs of youth
involved in street gangs.
"Doug has an impressive
record of accomplishment in adult and continuing education,"
said GSE Dean Susan H. Fuhrman. "We're very excited
by the
imaginative and thoughtful ideas he's formulating for
the future
of admissions, executive education and lifelong learning
at GSE."
A graduate of ASU,
Mr. Lynch holds an M.B.A. with a specialization in
international finance from NYU's
Stern School of Business and is working on his Ph.D.
in economics and education from Columbia.
