Vice Dean at Graduate School of Education: Doug Lynch

D. Lynch

Doug Lynch is the new vice dean for graduate admissions and executive education at GSE. Mr. Lynch oversees admissions policies for GSE's traditional and non-traditional programs and will assist faculty in the development of executive model and continuing education programs. Mr. Lynch came to Penn April 1 from NYU's School of Continuing and Professional Studies, where he served as assistant dean for corporate learning and new business initiatives. He was also responsible for international initiatives at NYU.

Before joining NYU, Mr. Lynch worked at the College Board, first as executive assistant to the president and then as director of member services. He also worked at Arizona State University, where he helped create the Genesis Academy, one of the state's first charter schools, designed to meet the special needs of youth involved in street gangs.

"Doug has an impressive record of accomplishment in adult and continuing education," said GSE Dean Susan H. Fuhrman. "We're very excited by the imaginative and thoughtful ideas he's formulating for the future of admissions, executive education and lifelong learning at GSE."

A graduate of ASU, Mr. Lynch holds an M.B.A. with a specialization in international finance from NYU's Stern School of Business and is working on his Ph.D. in economics and education from Columbia.
