Women's
Studies Grants
The
Women's Studies Program announces course development summer
grants to encourage new undergraduate courses on women
and gender. Two grants of $4,000 each will be made to members
of Penn's standing faculty. Courses developed through these
grants should be listed in the faculty member's department
or program and must also be cross-listed with Women's Studies.
Courses must have at least half of their content focused
on women or gender. Any course funded by these grants must
be offered in the 2004-05 academic year or in the fall
of 2005.
Proposed
courses should focus on subject areas not currently offered
by the applicant's department or program. Preference will
be given to courses that have wide appeal to both female
and male students. Courses may not have already
been supported by a course development grant from another
Penn unit.
Grant
funds may be used for graduate and undergraduate support,
course implementation and course support expenses, and/or
summer salary (If taken as salary, sums for employee benefits
and tax withholding will be subtracted).
