Polar Express in Garden Railway

polar express

Twinkling lights and holiday décor adorn the Garden Railway at the Morris Arboretum during this most magical of seasons. Free with regular admission: $8 Adults, $6 Seniors (65+) and Students (13-18 or with ID), $3 Children (3-12), under 3, members, and PennCard, free.

The Polar Express will be one of the popular G-scale trains running during the Morris Arboretum's Holiday Garden Railway Display, which opens Friday, November 26. The train is based on the popular children's book that has just been made into a movie for the holiday season.

The Holiday Garden Railway display will run daily from November 26 through January 2 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. daily. The display will be closed Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Year's. The Holiday Garden Railway display features seven G-scale train lines running through a miniature village featuring 50 of Philadelphia's most architecturally significant buildings, built to scale, all of which will be decked out in tiny decorations for the holidays. The buildings are lit from within and festive holiday lights adorn the trees and shrubs in the quarter-acre outdoor display. Among the buildings in the display is a five-foot-high replica of Independence Hall decorated with twigs and vines and acorns.
