HERS Information Sessions

Penn Professional Women’s Network, (formerly the Association for Women Faculty and Administrators), and Penn HERS alumnae will host two information sessions for women interested in learning more about the Bryn Mawr Summer Institute for Women in Higher Education. The Institute takes place over four weeks in July and has been attended by Penn women since the program’s inception in 1970.

The sessions will be held on:

Wednesday, February  9 at noon and Thursday, February 10, at 4 p.m.

Location: The ARCH Fireside Lounge, 3601 Locust Walk

The Summer Institute offers women administrators and faculty intensive training in education administration. The curriculum prepares participants to work with issues currently facing higher education, with emphasis on the growing diversity of the student body and the work force. The Institute aims to improve the status of women in the middle and executive levels of higher education administration, areas in which women traditionally have been under-represented.

For more information about the information sessions or HERS, contact Amy Calhoun at cal1@seas.upenn.edu, or Nancy McCue at mccue@pobox.upenn.edu. The Summer Institute’s website can be viewed at www.brynmawr.edu/summerinstitute/.
