May, animal biology, veterinary medicine; Dr. Zissimos Mourelatos, pathology and laboratory medicine; Dr. Dinggang Shen, radiology; Dr. Julia Tchou, surgery; Dr. Phong Tran, cell and developmental biology; Dr. Deborah Watson, neurosurgery; and Dr. Edward Y. The McCabe awards were established in 1969 by a generous gift from Mr. Thomas B. McCabe to the School of Medicine to support junior faculty who initiate fresh and innovative biomedical and surgical research projects and who have received no or limited external research funding while in their first through third years at Penn’s School of Medicine or the School of Veterinary Medicine. The awards continue to enrich the research careers of the faculty.
