10:30-11:30 a.m., Penn’s Tax-Deferred Retirement Plan Overview; useful for all faculty and staff newly eligible to join the plan or those not currently enrolled, this seminar deals with Penn’s Tax-Deferred Retirement Plan provisions and investment options, the potential benefits of participating in the plan, contribution rates and advantages of tax deferral, and asset allocation and available choices. 

Noon-1 p.m., How to Invest: Diversify Your Plan; all faculty and staff can benefit from this seminar that discusses the importance of diversification within stock investments, determining the right investment mix, and the Vanguard® services that can help you meet your investment goals.

1:30-2:30 p.m., Your Goal: Getting Ready to Retire; faculty and staff 5 to 10 years from retirement may want to take advantage of this seminar which deals with topics such as determining whether you’re financially ready to retire, ways to make your retirement savings last, catching up on saving for retirement, and investing for–and during–retirement.

Wednesday, November 2

TIAA-CREF, Benjamin Franklin Room, Houston Hall

10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m., Penn’s Tax-Deferred Retirement Plan Overview; useful for all faculty and staff newly eligible to join the plan or those not currently enrolled, this seminar deals with Penn’s Tax-Deferred Retirement Plan provisions and investment options, the potential benefits of participating in the plan, contribution rates and advantages of tax deferral, and asset allocation and available choices. 

Noon-1 p.m., Understanding Life Insurance; all faculty and staff can benefit from this seminar that discusses basic life insurance planning, determining how much coverage is needed, the types of policies available, and finding the policy and company that’s right for you.

1:30-2:30 p.m., Your Retirement Income Options; Faculty and staff nearing retirement may want to take advantage of this seminar which deals with TIAA-CREF’s decisions, guidance, philosophy, and method; retirement income flexibilities; choosing the best retirement method from the available options; and a comparison of annuity income, systematic withdrawals, interest-only payments, and the minimum distribution option.
