The Small Grants Program: November 14
The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL), through SAS, awards small grants to:
• Support the development and/or implementation of new teaching strategies
• Foster discussions about teaching and learning within departments
• Encourage additional training of graduate students, instructors, and faculty
The following provides a brief overview of the types of projects that CTL will support:
Development and Assessment of Teaching Strategies; up to $1500 to individual or teams of faculty members to support the development or assessment of new teaching strategies pursued in courses offered during any semester in calendar year 2006 (Spring, Summer Session I and II, or Fall).
Teaching…in the Twenty-First Century; up to $1000 is available to organize one or more events addressing contemporary issues in the teaching of a discipline or topic (e.g., Teaching Music in a Digital Age, or Teaching Introductory Economics in the 21st Century, or Teaching Islamic History After 9/11).
Departmental Grants to Improve Teaching at the Faculty Level; up to $1500 is available to SAS departments to support new programs to improve teaching by faculty at any level (including standing faculty, instructors and adjuncts).
Departmental Grants to Improve Training of Graduate Students as Teachers; up to $1500 to SAS departments to support new programs aimed at advancing the professional development of graduate students as teachers.
