Faculty/Staff Who Have Served at Penn for 25 or More Years
April 3, 2007, Volume 53, No. 28

The 51st celebration of faculty/staff who have been at Penn 25 or more years is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 11, 2007, in Houston Hall. The usual first Thursday of October date had to be changed because it is a Jewish Holy Day.

Certificates signed by the president and the provost will be mailed to those celebrating their silver jubilee at Penn and these certificates will not be distributed at the October 11 celebration. The certificates will be accompanied by the Penn 25-Year pin. The University of Pennsylvania 25-Year Bowl will be presented through cost centers and not at the October 11 celebration.

A program listing silver jubilee honorees will be given to all attending the celebration. If you are a silver jubilee honoree and prefer your name not listed please e-mail Duncan Van Dusen, as noted below.

At the celebration there will be food and beverage stations that open at 5 p.m. There will be no reserved seating, but there will be adequate tables and chairs for those who wish to sit, and assistance in carrying the food or beverage to your seat if requested. There will once again be free parking and a shuttle bus from Lot/Garage #7 near the Penn Museum.

As there has been in years past, there will be a separate celebration at New Bolton Center for those working at that facility.

There will be a favor for all those attending—the favor for 2007 will be an engraved paperweight.

Silver jubilee honorees are encouraged to bring a spouse/partner/friend as a guest but all others requesting to bring guests will be asked to pay $40 per guest to help defray the cost. This is a policy continuing from prior years.

If there are any questions contact a member of the celebration’s steering committee:

Dr. Neville E. Strumpf (chair)
Dr. Lance Donaldson-Evans (immediate past chair)
