Lopez

Vice President of Institutional Affairs Joann Mitchell announced the appointment of Stacey Lopez as Assistant Vice President for Institutional Research and Analysis for the University of Pennsylvania, effective December 3, 2007.  Ms. Lopez has been the director of institutional research at Carnegie Mellon University for the past two years. Prior to that she was a planning analyst there.

“Stacey has a strong record of accomplishment in leading the institutional research operation for CMU and is widely respected by her peers for her commitment to excellence.”

“Her colleagues at CMU had the highest praise for Stacey’s leadership and analytical skills as well as the professionalism and service-orientation that she brought to her role,” Ms. Mitchell added.
Ms. Lopez earned her bachelor’s degree (magna cum laude) in mathematics and statistics in 1992 and two master’s degrees, all from Wichita State University; the first in mathematics and statistics in 1995, and the second in industrial and manufacturing engineering in 2000.

“I am delighted that we were able to recruit Stacey to Penn and I am confident that she will lead the office to new levels of distinction,” said Ms. Mitchell.

Ms. Mitchell also thanked Susan Shaman for “her exemplary service as the Interim Director of the Office of Institutional Research and Analysis. Penn was very fortunate to have someone with her breadth and depth of experience and stature in the field assist us while this important search was underway. Ms. Shaman will continue serving as interim until December 2, 2007.”
