Eric J. Furda, vice president for alumni relations and former executive director of undergraduate admissions at Columbia University, has been named dean of admissions at the University of Pennsylvania.
Penn Integrates Knowledge Professor: Sarah Tishkoff
S. Tishkoff
President Amy Gutmann and Provost Ronald Daniels announced the appointment of Dr. Sarah Tishkoff as the sixth Penn Integrates Knowledge University Professor. Dr. Tishkoff, a leading global expert in human genetics, will be the David and Lyn Silfen University Associate Professor.
Penn Genome Frontiers Institute
Vice Provost for Research Steven J. Fluharty is pleased to announce that the Penn Genome Frontiers Institute (PGFI) will be the new name of the Penn Genomics Institute. This change reflects the cutting-edge, interdisciplinary work being conducted in genomics research across the University. The Institute will promote research and training in genomics, computational biology, and systems biology, with an emphasis on the interdisciplinary development of new technologies.

Almanac Schedule
Almanac is published weekly throughout the academic year. Deadlines for submission are every Tuesday for the folloing Tuesday's issue. Click here for 2007-08 publication schedule. Breaking news will be posted in the Almanac Between Issues section of the Almanac website; and sent out to Express Almanac subscribers.
