Thank you very much for your donations to the Penn Volunteers In Public Service Annual Change Drive which will benefit the Emergency Preparedness Program for Seniors. We are counting the donations and will report the amount in May.

Philadelphians Need Your Help On Election Day!

Volunteering with the non-partisan Committee of Seventy’s Election Oversight Program. On Tuesday, April 22, the polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. You have your choice of volunteering for a few hours or all day. Citizen Field Teams will visit polling places in a geographical area of their choice to answer voters’ questions, document complaints, and help solve disputes. Citizen Teams will be backed up by experienced legal volunteers both in the field and at their headquarters.

Help out at the Penn Relays.

Relay Dates for 2008: The Distance Classic (20K, 5K & 1 Mile Kids Fun Run) will be held on Sunday, April 20. Help will be needed starting at 6 a.m. until 11 a.m.: registration table, setting up and manning water stations and cutting up fruit and bagels for the runners at the end of the race.

Registration at The Palestra: help starting on Wednesday of Penn Relay week.

Registration times: Wednesday, April 23—10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Thursday, April 24—7 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday, April 25—7 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Saturday, April 26—7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

There will be a meeting a couple of weeks prior to the event for people to sign up for available hours. Feel free to volunteer for just a few hours. Many of the helpers after the registration hours go out to the track to help wherever needed.

Do you have clipboards that are no longer in use?

GPASS, a drug and alcohol treatment center is requesting used clipboards. Please send them to: Isabel Mapp, Netter Center, 133 S. 36th Street/3246.
