Volunteer Opportunities
PDF
November 11, 2008, Volume 55, No. 12

Dear Penn Community,

In our continuing efforts to be good neighbors, the following is a list of the monthly posting of community service opportunities. As many of you know, each month, Penn Volunteers In Public Service (Penn VIPS)  posts a list of volunteer opportunities. These opportunities are developed from the many requests we get from the surrounding community to be partners in a particular initiative and/or sometimes to provide assistance.Thank you for your continued support. Contact sammapp@pobox.upenn.edu for further information.

Run with the Cool Kids: Volunteer at Annual Philadelphia Marathon, Sunday, November 23

Be part of the 15th Annual Philadelphia Marathon, a world-class athletic event! Be among some 2,000 volunteers on hand to support the race. There are opportunities to assist with pre-race activities such as packet stuffing, registration, expo, and the information booth. Race day activities will include course monitors, support at the start, finish, and other parts of the course. There is a role for everyone! Sign up with friends, family, co-workers, schools, churches, nonprofit groups, or any other group of people. You can work together and have fun while supporting this wonderful event. Greater Philadelphia Cares is partnering with the Philadelphia Marathon for this event of which we can all be proud. Individual registration; register a group; join a group already registered. All volunteers will receive a free 2008 Marathon hoodie. For more information, or to register by phone, please contact Christine at Christine@gpcares.com or (908) 763-0333 for more information.

Would you like to donate your used digital camera?
The Penn Alexander School students are looking for some gently used digital cameras for a project they are working on. Please consider donating your used camera. Contact Ann Kreidle at kreidlea@gse.upenn.edu or sammapp@pobox.upenn.edu to make a donation.
