Dear Penn Community,

Thank you so very much for your support of the Annual Penn VIPS Food Drive. We were able to support both Carroll Park Community council and BEBASHI this year. They thank you for allowing them to serve many more deserving persons than they would have been able to serve. We donated 27 boxes and 18 large bags of food. Additionally, we donated a small amount of cash.

We thank you for your continued support of the surrounding community and hope that you will join us in our Toy, Coat & Gift Drive through December 18. Donated items will benefit Councilwoman Blackwell’s Party for the Homeless and Needy, McMichael School, Women of Peace, Mill Creek Coalition and People’s Emergency Shelter to name a few.

There’s Still Time to Adopt A Family for the Holidays!

Provide gifts and toys for a family that would otherwise not be able to celebrate the holiday. There are many families available.

Winter Coat Drive Through December 15

Does your old winter coat still have some serviceable miles on it? Warm coats in good condition are needed by a number of charitable organizations in the Philadelphia Area. The Department of Linguistics is working with the Penn VIPS Netter Center for Community  Partnerships office in organizing our 7th annual winter coat drive. If you have a gently used coat (or coats) to donate to our drive, they can be brought to one of the three locations listed below. We do not have the facilities or funds to clean donated items. Freshly laundered items, or those recently cleaned, are especially appreciated. Please make sure that the zippers zip and that there are buttons to be buttoned! Special Needs: babies’ and children’s coats; packs of new socks, both children’s and adults. Last year we collected more than 200 coats!
