Philadelphia’s own Japanese taiko drumming ensemble, Kyo Daiko, performs July 29 at Penn Museum as part of the Summer Wonder series of programs for children ages 6 to 12 and their families. The group uses taiko drums to provide high-energy entertainment while educating the audience about this centuries old Japanese tradition. The 10:30-11:30 a.m. program is free with museum admission donation and is co-sponsored by the Center for East Asian Studies. For information or to pre-register groups of 10 or more (no pre-registration necessary for individuals and families), contact the Museum’s Education department at (215) 746-6774 or education@museum.upenn.edu.
