Philabundance Community Food Center
Would you like to help us make a difference? The Community Food Center (CFC) is a food pantry following a choice model of distribution. Customers shop, choosing what they like from a wide variety of (free) items, including dry goods, refrigerated and frozen items, fresh dairy, produce and bread. The pilot CFC is being run in partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Community Service in the basement of the Lillian Marrero branch of the library at 601 W. Lehigh Avenue. The CFC is open five days a week, including evening and weekend hours, to allow maximum accessibility to the community. Volunteers are needed on a daily basis (Tues-Sat) for a variety of tasks including unloading daily orders, stocking the shelves, greeting, registering and checking-in customers and data entry. Groups and individual volunteers are both welcome. Those interested in volunteering should contact Tracey at tmccusker@philabundance.org or (215) 229-2221. Thanks and we look forward to hearing from you! |
