Thank you so much for your participation in the Annual Penn VIPS Change Drive and a special thanks to the Penn VIPS Dropsite Committee for  their work in collecting $1,309.09 in donations for the people of Haiti. The funds were donated to Partners in Health.

Volunteer to work at the Penn Relays.

Volunteers are needed! Help out with registration and other tasks. The schedule for registration in The Palestra is as follows:

Wednesday, April 21–10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Thursday, April 22–7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Friday, April 23–7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Saturday, April 24–7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Join the Penn VIPS Scholarship Committee!

Help plan the 18th Annual Penn VIPS Scholarship Program where we select and honor outstanding students from Bartram, Parkway, Overbrook, University City, Sayre and West Philadelphia High Schools.

Committee selects awardees, plans a reception to be held at the Sheraton Hotel and provides winners with up to $1,000 non-tuition scholarships.Planning is underway for the June 2010 program.

Career Day at Mastery Charter School

Join Mastery Charter for their first Annual Career Day, Friday, May 14. The day for panelists will start with a networking breakfast from 8 a.m.-8:30 a.m.  All panelists will need to arrive by 8:30 a.m. and will be finished by 12:15 p.m. The four 45-minute periods will be separated by five minute exchange periods. 

Needed are industry representatives from all fields to serve as panelists and to speak about their educational background, career path, and field of work as well as answer questions from students about the professional world.

Earth Day Event at UCHS

April 22, 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., University City High School, 3601 Filbert Street. The school will have informative stands for an Earth Day Event. 

Any company that deals with environmentally friendly practices such as restaurants that are organic or any company that is attempting to be environmentally friendly is welcome to showcase at the green fair. The event will take place outside (weather permitting) and needs to be interactive and project based.

Mentor a Student at West Philadelphia High

Join the College and Career Access team by becoming a mentor to a West Philadelphia High School student.  Meet with your student one day a week to talk about education, the world of work and tools needed to be successful. Mentors should be 19 or older and be available from 3:30-4:40 p.m. one day a week.
