RecycleMania Standings and Events

February 28, 2012, Volume 58, No. 24

Since February 6, RecycleMania 2012 kicked off with multiple tabling events across campus, distributing Green Campus Partnership giveaways, recycling posters, and other resources. The goal for RecycleMania is 32% for recycling glass, plastic, metal, paper and cardboard. In Week 1, Penn recycled 31% so keep up the pace over the next several weeks of the competition through the end of March!

At right are Penn's recycling rate and standings in the Ivy League Division and in comparison to other Philadelphia colleges and universities.

On Thursday, March 1, SEAS will host its 3rd Annual E-Waste Recycling Event from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Levine Hall Lobby. All Penn faculty, staff and students are encouraged to bring in their old personal electronics and computer hardware from their home/office to dispose of for free through the University's e-waste recycler or donate to CommuniTech's computer refurbishment program.

Have you started your own recycling initiative in your office or department? Email sustainability@upenn.edu to let us know.
