The Biological Engineering Network (B.E.N.) is a source of centralized information on interdisciplinary research, training, and education in the biomedical, biophysical and bioengineering sciences at Penn. Please browse the site and follow the links to Penn's Institutes, Centers and Departments that emphasize investigation and training unconstrained by traditional disciplinary boundaries.

Modern biomedical research is making great leaps through collaborative interactions of individuals in traditionally separate areas. Today’s “interdisciplinary frontier” is recognized as the mainstream of the future with quantitative sciences fully integrated into biomedicine. Penn recognized these needs a decade ago and leads the nation by having established leading edge major interdisciplinary resources on a single urban campus.
BEN champions the integration of leading-edge interdisciplinary research from molecule to organism.
