Penn's new Bio-Medical Research Building (BRBII, BRBIII), will be completed in the Spring of 1999. This state-of-the-art complex, consisting of 385,000 gross square feet, will house research laboratories, offices, conference rooms, lounges, a dining room, and a large auditorium. The building will complete a fully-enclosed pedestrian loop, linking by bridge and by building the entire Medical Center and School of Medicine complex.
In the Spring of 1996, graduate student Carolyn M. Whealan Andersson of the University of Pennsylvania's Department of Landscape Architecture, introduced an environmental education curriculum to a class of children at the Village of Arts and Humanities. Exercises included: mapping the landscape, materials, narrative drawing, Photomarathon, and placemaking collages.
