Parking Information

The influx of guests to campus for graduation coupled with the regular morning rush hour traffic creates tremendous congestion in the area around the University on Commencement morning. Guests are urged to allow extra time to reach the campus. Parking on and near the campus is limited.

For those who must drive to campus, parking facilities are available at the following locations:

University garage #30 -- the northeast corner of 38th and Walnut Streets (enter on 38th Street)

Sheraton University City Hotel garage -- 36th and Chestnut Streets

University lot #1 and garage # 26 -- 32nd and Walnut Streets (additional entrance at 33rd Street above Walnut Street)

University garage #40 -- 40th and Walnut Streets

University garage #37 (limited parking) -- 34th and Chestnut Streets (enter on 34th Street)

 

South Street Bridge Closure

The South Street Bridge officially closed on December 8, 2008 to ALL vehicular, pedestrian, and bicycle traffic.  The demolition and rebuilding of the bridge requires complete closure of the structure between Convention Avenue (still listed as Civic Center Blvd on Google Maps) and 27th Street, including the on- and off-ramps connecting South Street and I-76. Please be prepared for significant vehicular congestion throughout University City, as well as periodic traffic and parking changes in the vicinity of campus.
