Top-notch treatment
Sports can give athletes the thrill of victory, the agony of defeat—or the pain of being injured.
The Penn Sports Medicine Center helps injured athletes return to play as quickly as possible, delivering the most appropriate treatment and offering rehabilitation services for sprains and strains, back and neck injuries, dislocations and arthritis, knee and shoulder injuries, and more.
Led by Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery Brian J. Sennett, the Center's multidisciplinary approach allows it to provide individualized, comprehensive treatment for every kind of injury. And patients benefit from the convenience of visiting multiple specialists—including orthopedic surgeons, rehabilitation medicine physicians and physical therapists—in one centralized location.
Among the Center's specialties is arthroscopy, a minimally invasive procedure, important especially in sports medicine, that can fix ligament tears or even fractures with minimal scarring, allowing patients to recover, and get back in the game, as soon as possible.
