Administrative Servers

Overview

ISC Systems Engineering/Operations (SE/O) handles the storage, processing, and output of data for the University's administrative users.
SE/O manages the administrative mainframe, the Ben Financials related servers, and numerous Sun, AIX, and Windows NT and 2000
servers and all related Oracle and Adabas databases on these systems in support of our many users.  SE/O also administrates the
PENNBack, FINBACK, and the Veritas LAN backup systems to give users recoverability options in the case of a disaster.  Other
services handled by SE/O include Disaster Recovery of client servers which we manage, or that the client manages themselves.

The main objectives of SE/O are;

1)  To effectively manage our clients data so that it is available to them whenever and in whichever form they require it to perform their
jobs efficiently, by providing knowledgable Systems and Database administrators to manage the databases and the servers they are located on.

2)  To provide quality backup solutions by offering several popular backup options and offsite storage which are managed by experienced administrators.

3)  To provide top level disaster Recovery solutions in which we assist users in planning for, testing, and implementing disaster recovery
procedures.

ISC SE/O is made up of  four groups which report to Ray Davis, ISC Executive Director;

Technical Services  --   Bill Ramirez, Technical Director

Database Administration  --   Dan Sheehan, Technical Director

Operations  --  Russ Carroll, Senior Director

Disaster Recovery  --   Tom Unger, Disaster Recovery Manager
