ISC's Computing Resource Center

Walk-in Support (Quick-Check)

The CRC offers walk-in support for laptop computers to Graduate and Professional students as well as undergraduate students who live off campus.. Students experiencing issues such as loss of network connectivity or system slowness can bring their laptop computer to the Computing Resource Center during our normal business hours. Walk-in consultation involves a quick-check of all system functionality and a quick scan of the system for viruses. Quick-checks usually last between 15 and 25 minutes.

If we are unable to identify or resolve your issue during quick-check, we will ask that you leave your system with the CRC for a complete system evaluation.

Complete System Evaluation

The CRC can perform more extensive diagnostics and repairs for software related issues up to and including a complete reformat and reinstallation of your operating system. However you will need to leave your system with us for 5 to 7 business days in order for us to complete this service. Prior to checking your laptop or desktop computer with us, you should back up all your data.

We perform complete system evaluations for both laptop and desktop computers.

NOTE: Be sure to bring the original media for your operating system and any other software you want the CRC to re-install. Original media means the CDs that you received when you purchased your computer or software. Anti-piracy laws forbid the Computing Resource Center from installing software from copied media.
