How can I add a report filter in Webi?

If you need to add a QUICK FILTER to a result object that is ALREADY displayed in the report, do this:

    1. Select an object already displayed on the Report Pane (click on a data cell).
    2. Click the Filter icon (a yellow funnel; highlighted in PURPLE) in the Reporting toolbar.
      • You can either just click the icon or you can select the 'Add Quick Filter' option.
    3. Select a value from the Filter dialog box.
      • You can only select one value at this point.
      • Object and filter appear in the Filter Pane (highlighted in GREEN).
    4. Double click it there if you find you need to edit the filter, such as adding more values.
      • See the PURPLE highlighting and commenting on the graphic that follows.

If you need to add one or two simple filters with ONE VALUE EACH to result objects NOT CURRENTLY VISIBLE in a report, do this:

    1. Select the object that you need to add to the report from the Data tab to the left of the Report Pane.
    2. Drag and drop it on the Report Filter Toolbar (highlighted in RED) at the top of the Report Pane.
    3. Select the drop-down arrow and select one value.
      • See the RED highlighting and commenting on the graphic that follows.
      • Repeat this process if you need to add other filters.

If you need to add one or more filters to result objects NOT CURRENTLY VISIBLE in the report but they need to have SEVERAL VALUES EACH, do this:

    1. Select the object that you need to add to the report from the Data tab to the left of the Report Pane.
    2. Drag and drop it on the Filter Pane (highlighted in GREEN) at the top of the Report Pane.
    3. Add all of your details in the Filter Editor dialog box (operator, operand type, values)
      • As you can see, multiple values are allowed as well as different operand types and operators.
      • See the GREEN highlighting and commenting on the graphic that follows.
      • Repeat this process if you need to add other filters.

If you need to add one or several complex filters or sub-queries, see How To Create Complex Query Filters by nesting or indenting them together, and using AND and OR in Webi
