Position Inventory Data Collection
The Position Inventory collection allows University management to track
changes in employees, organizational affilitiation, job classification,
or funding, either through a monthly snapshot or through monthly tracking
of changes to specific positions. The collection was created in the Data
Warehouse in 1997, to support the Position Inventory
web reports available in BEN
Reports. Whether accessed via the web or ad hoc query, this data gives
University management a common language to discuss the status of positions,
whether open or filled, and provides a mechanism for understanding changes
in the number and the organizational location of positions.
Individuals wishing to query the collection directly (using Business
Objects or another query tool) must complete the appropriate section on
the Financial data access request
form. Those accessing the web reports should refer to the access
guidelines for BEN Reports.
Position Inventory features and benefits incude:
- Tracking position trends on a monthly and fiscal year basis, and for
the same accounting period of the previous year
