 Data element Definition Applied Home \$ Indexed - no Format - number May be null? no Applied Home \$ uses Paid Applied Tuition, and is the net paid cash amount assigned to the Home School of the Student. Calculating Home \$ is a two step process. The Weighted Course Unit is multiplied by the Tuition Export Rate for the Primary Instructional Program of this Student. (applied export rate * weighted course unit) The resulting number is then multiplied by either 20% for taxable instructional programs or 25% for non-taxable programs. After the course weight is applied, then the Joint Degree percentages, Teaching School percentages, and Instructor Load percentages are applied.   Weighted Course Unit originates as the Registered Credit in the Enrollment table. The value of the Registered Credit is adjusted (weighted) by the type of credit and if the credit was a dissertation or masters course. Semester Hours (SH) are converted to Course Units (CU) by dividing their value by 3. Credit Hours (CR) are converted to Course Units (CU) by dividing their value by 6. Dissertation Credits (Activity Type DIS/DAB) are evaluated on the following scale: For 995 (PHD Dissertation) courses: Education: If Dissertation Terms Greater Than 10, then CU * 0.15 AN,AS,DM,FA,LW,MD,SW,VM,WH: If Diss Terms Greater Than 5, then CU * 0.15 Otherwise, CU * 0.67 For 990 (Masters Thesis) Courses: CU * 0.15
