You may enter all or part of a
first name, or given name,
into the
first
name field, as long as you enter at least two characters into one of the name fields when you search only by name. The system will automatically find any matching names beginning with the characters you enter.
Example: search on "clar" will find
"Clara", "Clarence", "Clarissa",
and other names beginning with "clar".
Advanced tip: You may also use "wildcard" characters within name fields, but your searches may take longer to produce results. Use "%" (percent sign) to match one or more characters at the start of, or within, a name. This is useful if you aren't sure of the spelling.
Example:
"%atherine" finds "Catherine" and "Katherine"; "S%n" finds "Sean", "Shaun", and "Shawn".
