How do I delete messages from webmail?

There are two methods of deleting messages from webmail:

Method 1 Mark for deletion, Purge Deleted messages
Method 2 Move deleted message to "Trash" folder, empty trash folder.

Note that both methods require 2 steps to fully remove a message from your account.

In certain over quota situations it may be necessary to use "Autopurge" to delete messsages.

You can verify which method you are using by examining the upper right-hand of the webmail screen and seeing whether you have a "Hide Deleted | Purge Deleted" or "Show Deleted | Purge Deleted" buttons

If you have these buttons then you are using method 1 for deletion. If you do not have these buttons than you are using method 2.

The following describes how you can delete messages using one of the two methods:

Method 1

1.) Select message for deletion
2.) Mark message for deletion by clicking on "Delete"
3.) Completely remove deleted message by clicking on "Purge Deleted"

Method 2

1.) Select message for deletion
2.) Move message to "trash" folder by clicking on "Delete"
3.) Completely remove deleted message by clicking on "Empty Trash" from the menu bar

Changing Deletion Methods:

1.) Go to "Options" from the menu bar
2.) Click on "Deleting and Moving Messages"
3.) Check/un-check "When deleting messages, move them to your "Trash folder" instead of marking them as deleted?"
