Why does webmail require web browser cookies to be enabled?

To enhance the security of webmail, web browser cookies must be enabled to access webmail starting July 6th, 2006. Please contact your Local Support Provider if you need assistance in enabling cookies in your web browser.

If you don't have cookies enabled in your browser, your webmail session will immediately end and you'll get a message that you have been logged out.
