HTML2000 - Objectives

Welcome to the HTML/Web Authoring Software Evaluation Home Page-
Spring 2000

    Meeting Notes

    Date/Time Location
3/30/2000 10:30am-12:00am Sansom Place West, Bits and Pieces Room, 3rd Floor

Hi everyone. Here's another set of meeting notes from the "Better late than never" department!

Thanks to the following people for attending the last meeting of HTML2000.

    Joe Harris - ISC
    Celeste Stewart - ISC
Vasu Renganathan - Foreign Language Resource Center
    Sarah Nachmias - SAS
Jennifer Yuan - School of Medicine
    Scott Roberts - History
    Peggy Yetter - ISC
    Brett Bonfield - Development
And a new person - Felice - from LRSM, who breezed in but we never caught his last name. If he returns, we'll find out!

Here are some general notes from the meeting.

    - Joe deferred his findings on availability of demo versions of the software we're examining until the next meeting.

    - No substantial comments from WebSIG to review.

    - Items from the must have, nice to have and informational criteria categories were finalized. We broke our team into three groups and each group took a set of criteria to define. We wrote simple explainations for each one, for example:

Form tag: Ability to build a form from basic form elements (feature depends on the ability to also interact with or reference scripts on the server or javascript.

Now that we have defined exactly which criteria we'll be looking at, we can move on to determining how we will evaluate and test each criterion. That fun will be reserved for the next meeting. Jennifer, Celeste and Scott agreed to type the criteria so that we have a list to work from.

    - Because we didn't get to everything on the agenda, I've re-worked it, below.

    3/30/00

Go over any comments from the WebSIG.
Finalize the items in the must have, nice to have and informational criteria categories
    Go over Vasu's web form
    Have Pizza for lunch.

4/6/00 Make final decisions on the list of applications to evaluate.
Joe will present his findings on the availibility of demo versons of the software we are examining. Start to talk about an initial test script and how to measure each criterion.
4/13 Finish test script and begin setting up the standards lab for testing.
    4/20 Run test scripts
4/27 Prepare final report for presentation to IT Roundtable, WebSIG and SUG.

Thanks again for coming and pizza-partying. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again this Thursday!
