Supported Products - Spring 2003 - Operating System Guidelines

We continue to select and support both Windows and Mac OS products in each category. Windows products must support Windows ME, Windows NT Workstation 4.0, Windows 2000 Professional, and Windows XP (Home and Professional). Mac products must support Mac OS versions 9.0.x through X version 10.2. Support for a single product that offers both a Windows and Mac version is preferable, but separate Windows and Mac products can be selected in cases where they are significantly better than the cross-platform applications available. Teams must also consider the existence of versions for other operating systems in use on campus, such as Linux/Unix, as a criterion when ranking candidate products. Support for other operating systems is not required, and teams should weigh this factor as appropriate within each product category. Interoperability of supported products with Palm OS-based products is also a consideration.
