Supported Products - Spring 2004 - Operating System Guidelines

We continue to select and support both Windows and Mac products in each category. Windows products must support Windows 2000 Professional and Windows XP (Professional and Home). Mac OS products must support Mac OS version 9.1.x/9.2.x and Mac OS X versions 10.2 and above. Support for a single product that offers both a Windows and Mac OS version is preferable, but separate Windows and Mac OS products may be selected in cases where they are significantly better than the cross-platform applications available. Teams must also consider the existence of versions for other desktop operating systems in use on campus, such as Linux/Unix, as a criteria when ranking candidate products. Support for other desktop operating systems is not required, and teams should weigh this factor as appropriate within each product category. Teams are also asked to consider interoperability with PDAs, not as a requirement, but as a criteria where appropriate.
