Macintosh Networking Group
(MacNet) |
The Macintosh Networking group, or "MacNet" group, is open to any University personnel who support the Macintosh and related products. The group provides a forum (thru monthly meetings, a mailing list, and web site) for the discussion and disseminatation of information of Macintosh related issues pertinent to Penn's campus.
Meetings are genrally held: Second Thursday of each month, 2-3:30, Bits & Pieces room, 306 Samson Place West, 3650 Chestnut Street |

Public Area Computing Special Interest Group
(PAC-SIG) |
The PAC-SIG Group is made up of computing lab administrators and others with a strong interest in the support of public areas of computing on campus. It facilitates information exchange and technical support through meetings and an electronic distribution list, and addresses issues related to public computing lab standards and services.
Meetings are held: quarterly |
PC Networking Group
(PCNet) |
The PC Networking Group, or "PCnet" Group, is open to any University personnel who support PCs and related products. The group provides a forum (thru monthy meetings, a mailing list, and web site) for the discussion and dissemination of information of PC related issues pertinent to Penn's campus.
Meetings are held six times per year (odd months). |

Super User Group
(SUG) |
The Super User Group facilitates information exchange among those within the University of Pennsylvania community who provide technical support, service, or IT direction. Membership is open to those at the University and in the extended Penn community with a strong interest in computing and information technology at Penn. Information exchange and technical support is facilitated through monthly meetings and an electronic distribution list.
Meetings are held: Second Monday of each month, 12 Noon-1:30 |
Video Special Interest Group
(Video-SIG) |
The Video Special Interest Group distribution list is used by its members to disseminate information about video and emerging technologies related to video to University of Pennsylvania faculty, staff, and students as well as assist faculty and staff in their integration. |
Web Special Interest Group
(WEB-SIG) |
The Web Special Interest Group (Web-SIG) welcomes University of Pennsylvania faculty, staff, and students with an interest in the support of World Wide Web systems, sites, and services on campus. Team meetings and an electronic distribution list provide a forum for presenting web projects, sharing experiences and information, and discussing issues of interest to members of the group.
Meetings are held: Fourth Monday of each month, 3:00 to 4:30 |

A special list designed to provide a limited number of messages of interest to the wider IT community. Subscribers to any of the Special Interest Groups above will receive IT-Announce messages. |

For communication about Penn's network infrastructure including updates and outage announcements.
SUG members will receive all PennNet-Announce messages and don't need to subscribe separately. |
| LSP-ADSYS |
For LSPs that support users of administrative systems, providing information about system availability as well as notices and alerts that may affect the end user and/or desktop. All communications regarding PennERA, Atlas, BEN Financials, and other administrative systems targeted to the LSP community will be sent to this distribution list. |
| LSP-VOIP |
For communication about the Penn Voice Over IP including updates and outage announcements. |
| Technology Training |
Receive information about technical training opportunities offered on campus by ISC Technology Training Services. ILearnIT messages will be of interest to technical staff and their clients. |
