Audio-Visual Special Interest Group (AV-SIG)
The Audiovisual Special Interest Group is open to University personnel with a strong interest in the installation, configuration, and/or support of audiovisual equipment and video production equipment in both classrooms and conference spaces. The group provides a forum (through meetings and other venues) for discussion of AV-related issues as well as vendor- and member-led demonstrations of implementation of these technologies.
Meetings are held periodically.

| Tour the Penn Video Network Broadcast Studio
Learn about the Broadcast Studio that was built for the President's Office for instant access to Network TV via the internet. The new studio is a remotely controlled, broadcast quality video production solution capable of capturing, streaming, and recording HD and SD video and audio over our IP network. The VideoLink system feeds HD video and audio feeds to television networks, content distribution networks, or other destinations using an enhanced IP service. This leading-edge technology does this without the technical limitations normally associated with video over IP assuring a picture that meets the broadcast standards of networks like CNN, ABC, and CBS.
Location:
Penn Video Network studios in 3401 Walnut Building, Suite 232A.
Please note that due to space limitations an RSVP will be required to attend this session. RSVPs can be sent "douthett at isc.upenn.edu" or "rhodes at isc.upenn.edu". |

| Tour the Teaching, Learning, and Collaboration spaces in Van Pelt Library
Van Pelt Library has graciously agreed to host our first AV-SIG “field trip.” So, please join us as we get an inside look at some of Van Pelt Library's Teaching, Learning, & Collaboration spaces and the technologies used in support of those spaces.
Our hosts will be Marjorie Hassen, Director of Public Services; Doug Smullens, IT Manager; and Anu Vedantham, Director of the Weigle Information Commons. We will convene in the Van Pelt-Dietrich Library Center's Cinema Studies Classroom, Room 425 (at the far west end of the 4th floor), where Marjorie will provide an overview of the library's learning and collaboration spaces and Doug will show off the capabilities of the recently-upgraded Cinema Studies Classroom. We will then head to the Weigle Information Commons (1st floor) where Anu will discuss the WIC's work supporting students and faculty at the intersection of technology, pedagogy, and collaboration.
